Yesterday was a great day for heading down to Kitsilano Beach and False Creek and try out if I can make some nice shots for a HDR experiment.

I quite like the result, but I’m new to HDR and some other shots (I didn’t upload them) didn’t come out as expected.

Comments are welcome and suggestions also First HDR Photowalk

  • Where does Spaghetti with Meatballs come from – not from Italy

Posted Oct 6th, 2011 By in Journal With | meatballs-with-gravy

One of my big passions is food and cooking, not surprising as I’m italian. Before living in North America, Spaghetti with Meatballs was something fictional, only seen on TV Shows and in Movies – something that doesn’t exist (because you cannot find it in Europe, let alone Italy).I was almost shocked to see “italian” restaurants present Spaghetti with Meatballs as authentic cuisine … then I discovered this article which explains it all… Where does Spaghetti with Meatballs come from not from Italy #cooking #italian #american

Spaghetti with Meatballs | Almost Italian
This dish, perhaps more than any other, has defined Italian-American cuisine. In fact, the concept of Spaghetti with Meatballs inspired the first edition of Almost Italian

  • Boulevard Google

Posted Feb 27th, 2009 By in Journal With | google_austria

On my last Trip to Salzburg for a meeting I was watching some television in the hotel. Nothing strange you might think, but I was more than stunned to see a tv-show with the name “Google Trends“. No it’s not about SEO or SERP, it’s not about technology. It’s about the top 5 search terms of the day on Google Austria.

Puls 4, the tv station airing this show, does some research and tries to figure out why the terms where searched. Yesterday for example one of the most searched terms where about a movie because a new trailer was released. So they showed the trailer. Really interesting.

I wonder if this “trending” made by people really shows something or if it is only another way of the classic boulevard type of information known from tabloids.

  • Watch out for your IStockphoto credits

Posted Dec 17th, 2008 By in Journal With | istockphoto_logo

I’m sure you are using IStockphoto, it’s a great site and makes our work so much easier. But be aware that if you buy credit in advance they will be valid only for one year. I knew that and bought 600 credits a year ago for our firm. After a year you cannot be sure anymore when the will expire and IStockphoto doesn’t send you any notice.

So mark the expiration date in your calender – maybe mark a few weeks earlier so that you won’t lose them, like I lost 201 credits.

    Update 18/12/2009

I’ve been contacted by Istockphoto, they are watching the blogsit seems, and they reactivated my credits. They postponed the expiration date. Great costumer service – so if you get close to the expiration date and have a lot of credits it might be a good idea to contact their customer service, they may postpone it for you as well.

    Update March 2010

The famous expiration emails don’t work with the corporate accounts.

  • 2nd South Tyrolean Webmarketing Stammtisch

Posted Nov 17th, 2008 By in Journal With | 20081114-img_0008

First things first. I want to thank again Herbert and Christian, and also the rest of the pack, who organized the whole gathering and for comming to have fun.

You might mean from the pictures on the moblogging experiment and flickr that there was no technical discussion going on – in fact someone got a free makeover of his blog from 3 experts.

And the day after? Well let’s say that the sun was great – no clouds in sight, just like South Tyrol should be. But sincerely I coudn’t enjoy it that much, as I had to rest a little, you know…

And if you wonder what “Stammtisch” means – Google Translation would be a bad idea to figure out. By doing some research I’ve found crackerbarrel. Feel free to correct me in the Comments.
